The relationship
The first and last appereance of our delicious happy family is in the latest
moments of Kill Bill Volume 2: the Bride
is about to fulfill her bloody revenge, but she suddenly faces the daughter
(B.B., as her father called her) she thought she lost four years
ago. The little girl has a plastic gun, while the Bride has a real one in
her hands. Next to their daughter, Bill is telling a story in
which B.B., the heroine, shots Kiddo, the killer. Bursting in tears, the Bride
plays with her child and cuddles her. They really seem an happy family all
night long, with no revenges involved, but retrieving her own daughter doesn't
mean the Bride gave up on her intention. So, she kills Bill, after a long,
long chat encouraged by a truth drug Bill shot her with. When killing him,
the Bride discovers she still has feelings for him, and so does Bill, but,
with a smile, he hits the ground and dies, as the Bride used a technique Pai
Mei taught her: with her fingers, she presses five vital organs on his body,
then she let him go, but, when he walks away, he falls dead after five steps,
as the heart exploded in his chest. Bill knew that and he honestly never thought
that Pai Mei would tell her his most precious secret. However, even if he's
a bastard assassin, he faces his death with dignity, then the Bride takes
B.B. away with her.
In other words, their relationship is so trange, so melancholic, funny, twisted,
blood-stained. And we all love it, don't we?
